Reflections

My PYPX journey has been a great learning experience and I am so glad I did it.  In the beginning I was very nervous and felt quite overwhelmed. I also felt a bit of excitement because some of it sounded fun.  When we started we went on a retreat.  The retreat was reassuring and opened me up to many new perspectives and ideas. Then we began the work process. First we did loads and loads of research. After that we finally got started on the Choices.  In my opinion, choices were the best part because I got to be creative and it was interactive. My favorite part was the play because I love performing arts. Although all the choices were great it was quite challenging to do the timeline because it is hard to find global information.  Then I went on my trips to TATU, More Than a Drop and Kibo Shanty primary school. Afterwards I completed all my actions which were a bake sale, putting sanitary products in the DP girls’ bathrooms and teaching Kibo Shanty girls sports.  Then we were at the final stretch so we got to decorate our boards and organize them. Then it was time to present. At first I was upset because of the location but it the end it was extremely rewarding that all my hard work paid off. Overall this is a great experience to learn to be independent and share your passion.
